a highly polished chisle, the little marks are not chips, just colorations in the stone.
A celt, ax and pick, all found the same day along the TN River in Feb. 2008
various pieces
A small ax, a celt, a paint pallet, some gorget pieces.
Two views of a stone bead. Extremely polished, inside and out.
A piece we call "the claw". Perino seemed to think it was the base/handle of a knife/blade that broke.
Seems to be some indicision as to what exactly this was used for. Some think it's a weight/sinker, others think it's a pendant. Either way, good find.
All found along the TN River in July 2007...the same day as the 9 blade cache in the photo below.
a couple pipes
Three views of the same stone elbow pipe. Found with both pieces laying next to each other, evidently froze and broke...exactly in half. Even in half, it's a nice find.
Two views fo the same small pipe. Must have been used a lot, there's a hole worn thru one side.
another small pipe
more odds and ends
All found along the TN River one morning in Sept. 2008
A few stone artifacts. A nutting stone, a pestle, a paint pot, a cone, and a mortar & pestle. All found along the TN River.
A cache or two
a cache of 16 blades...another good day!
Another cache of 9 nice size blades found along the TN River in July 2007...another great day!
Some of the drills I have found over the years. All found in Southeast TN.
Top two photos...lots of nice Hamiltion points. Bottom photo, a bunch of different points, all found along the TN River in Southeast TN.
